Pallavi Awasthi, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Public Management at the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship, Nova Southeastern University. Pallavi completed a PhD in Public Affairs. Additionally, she also has two master’s degrees in public personnel management and public administration. She has about 15 years of research and consulting experience in public sector leadership development, strategic planning and management, and sustainable community capacity building. Pallavi’s has consulted organizations such as United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Ministry of Personnel-Government of India, and Family Network on Disabilities. She has consulted on matters related to local government leadership, strategic planning and management, digital innovation, and sustainable community development in the public sector. Her current research explores successful leadership approaches in city governments, particularly ‘servant leadership’ and how it enables the development of lean processes and strategies for faster adoption of emerging digital innovations and sustainable community development practices in local governments.
